A series of interconnected stories that give a modern perspective on sex, drugs, and rock & roll. It's a funny and wildly imaginative film where the impossible can happen and the unexpected *will* happen.

Well, I am out of my Digger-pression! Movies do mean something, especially when they are so representative of the community that came together to make them (hands off, you lazy technocrats!).What an incredible cast of weirdos. This is truly a special sort of non-actor film. I can't recall a movie recently where so many people were so game and having so much fun being in a movie as low budget as this. My special props to whoever played the redheaded frat nerd with glasses. Genuinely one of the funniest performances I've seen from someone whose archetype is so...ill-defined.In the same lineage as Hundreds of Beavers, this film (especially the third bit) is a joke machine. However, I may even prefer the looseness of this to the formalism of the former. The obvious (but unforced) Lynch parallels give it an Adventures of Pete & Pete feel. The playful dead ends and instinctual acting choices feel very Jon Paizs. There's even a thread to Altman's Popeye in just how committed it is to doing a live action cartoon within the human limits of physics and resources. Nothing is working too hard to actually be a cartoon, making the shortcomings so charming and artful. Just freak and flack flying all across the board. The three segments/three genres approach makes this a party you're glad to get exhausted from; in fact, so exhausted you may not even be sure what actually happened at times. I'm walking around today as if the CIA had inserted false memories in my brain. Was the genie the punk singer? Do they do the same shot everytime they show Melvin entering? Also what the hell is his fetish? What's Bubblegum Gangster's angle here?Keeeeith?!?!?!The lines are rattling around in there:"Who the hell is Tom Hanks?""She ate those burgers and they were from YEARS AGO.""He was in a war alright...in his MIND."I will be recommending this to everyone. The future of movies will be the things you make with your friends.
