The only toxic relationship I want in my life.
The Toxic Avenger is a simple reminder that the best super hero is from my home state of New Jersey.
After being bullied and covered in toxic waste, a puny janitor is transformed into a deformed, superhuman vigilante who protects the citizens of Tromaville.
It was directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, the founders of Troma Entertainment, a studio known for its low-budget, transgressive independent cinema.
The film did not receive major mainstream awards, but it became a global cult phenomenon and helped establish the Troma brand.
