I guess I never knew I wanted musical horror films until I saw this musical horror film
The disturbing nature of those last 10 minutes doesn't fully set in until it's over. For some reason, as inevitable as the ending may seem for the entire movie, you still feel like there's a chance of making it out. This is hilarious too. Think I loved it. I also think folk horror is officially my "thing".
A devout Christian police sergeant travels to a remote Scottish island to find a missing girl, only to find the eccentric local community practicing bizarre pagan rituals.
It was directed by Robin Hardy in 1973, marking his feature directorial debut and becoming a touchstone of the folk horror genre.
While it did not sweep major traditional awards upon its initial release, it earned widespread critical acclaim over subsequent decades and is celebrated as a landmark of British cinema. Tickets on Mood.
