Peaces

„Don‘t you know that he belongs to Slytherin?!“ That line from Sorcerers Get All The Girls is a fine display of Peaces’ way of writing. The german power pop band always goes the whole nine yards by incorporating nods to pop culture on both a lyrical and a musical level. Subtle (and some not-so-subtle) references will reveal themselves to you if you listen closely - as you should, for there is much to explore on their debut EP. The band channels jingle jangle and power pop influences, Tom Petty being an obvious inspiration for the opening song Heathens Of Love. The band decided to cut the four highly melodic songs that make up their eponymous EP live in the studio with only minimal overdubbing, thus capturing the thrill of a short energetic gig by a band with a knack for arrangement and harmonies. Peace(s) to the world!
