A nostalgic, slow-burn opera night.
To open the London Symphony Orchestra’s 2026/27 season, Sir Antonio Pappano leads a performance featuring a new UK premiere by Dai Fujikura and Mahler's monumental 'Resurrection' Symphony. Fujikura’s Amber Alchemy draws inspiration from the rooftop beehives at Nomura’s London headquarters. This is followed by Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, an expansive 90-minute journey through life and rebirth that utilizes a massive orchestra, two soloists, and a full chorus. The LSO is joined by the London Symphony Chorus along with soprano Maria Bengtsson and mezzo-soprano Noa Beinart.
