Soprano and conductor Barbara Hannigan joins the London Symphony Orchestra for a diverse programme exploring 20th-century American music. The evening features works by Charles Ives, including From the Steeples and the Mountains and Shall we gather at the river, alongside Ruth Crawford Seeger's Rissolty Rossolty and Wallingford Riegger's Study in Sonority. The concert also includes Carl Ruggles' Sun-Treader, the waltz from Richard Rodgers' Carousel, and a symphonic arrangement of George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.
