Saxophonist, rapper, and composer Soweto Kinch revisits his trilogy of works created with the London Symphony Orchestra since 2019. The program features music from The Black Peril, White Juju, and Soundtrack to the Apocalypse. Inspired by events ranging from the 1919 race riots to the lockdown and culture wars of 2020, these works explore themes of the past, present, and future. Breaking traditional genre boundaries, the performance combines layered storytelling and lyricism to subvert tropes and gain new perspectives on musical storytelling. The result is a mix of cerebral and guttural creations designed to assail the senses and enrich the soul.
