Violinist Pekka Kuusisto joins the London Philharmonic Orchestra for a program featuring Sibelius's Violin Concerto and Tippett's Symphony No. 4. Lineup on Mood.
Edward Gardner leads the London Philharmonic Orchestra in a program exploring music at its most original and vital. The evening begins with Sir George Benjamin’s homage to an old friend, Concerto for Orchestra, followed by violinist Pekka Kuusisto performing Sibelius’s Violin Concerto. The second half features Sibelius's The Swan of Tuonela and Michael Tippett’s Symphony No. 4, a living, feeling work grown from the tiniest of cells.
