Piano House-events in Amsterdam

Piano House is an exuberant subgenre of house music that gained massive popularity during the late 1980s and early 1990s, particularly within the UK rave and Italian house scenes. Defined by its signature usage of bright, percussive piano stabs—often synthesized via the iconic Korg M1—the genre is characterized by a steady 4/4 four-on-the-floor beat and soulful, gospel-inspired vocal hooks. Its tempo typically ranges from 120 to 128 BPM, delivering a high-energy and euphoric atmosphere designed for peak-time dancefloors. As a bridge between underground club culture and commercial dance-pop, it shares deep structural roots with Chicago house while emphasizing melodic accessibility and infectious, rhythmic positivity.
