Acid Jazz-concerten en liveshows in Parijs

Acid jazz emerged from the mid-1980s London club scene, fusing elements of rare groove, soul, funk, and hip hop into a revitalized jazz framework. The genre typically features a hybrid instrumentation of live brass, electric bass, and Rhodes piano layered over sampled breakbeats or complex electronic percussion. Characterized by its mid-tempo, syncopated grooves and a sophisticated yet accessible mood, it bridges the gap between traditional live jazz improvisation and contemporary electronic club music culture. Historically championed by labels like Acid Jazz Records and Talkin' Loud, the genre remains influential for its cosmopolitan blend of organic musicianship, groove-based improvisation, and polished urban production techniques.
