Bounce-events deze week in San Francisco

Originating in the housing projects of New Orleans during the late 1980s, bounce is a high-energy subgenre of hip hop characterized by its communal call-and-response vocals and hyper-rhythmic structure. The genre typically features repetitive, syncopated drum machine patterns heavily influenced by the "Triggerman" and "Drag Rap" beats, often layered with thick synthesizers and rapid-fire chanting. Known for its frenetic tempo and exuberant party atmosphere, bounce emphasizes physical movement and sexual expression, particularly through the cultural practice of twerking. While rooted in local Southern traditions, bounce shares strong semantic ties to gangsta rap and trap music, acting as a foundational rhythmic pillar for contemporary mainstream pop and urban dance styles.
