Rap-events deze week in San Francisco

Rap originated in the Bronx during the late 1970s as a core element of hip-hop culture, characterized by rhythmic and rhyming speech delivered over synthesized beats or sampled loops. Typical instrumentation centers on the human voice and the Roland TR-808 drum machine, often incorporating deep basslines and syncopated percussion patterns that define its signature sound. Tempos generally reside between 80 and 110 beats per minute, fostering an energetic yet grounded mood that ranges from socio-political commentary to celebratory anthems. Semantically, the genre evolved from funk and disco traditions, eventually becoming a global pop phenomenon that heavily influences R&B, electronic dance music, and contemporary rock styles.
