How the hell do you even make this movie? What the fuck does the script even look like? I don't understand. This seems impossible. Jesus christ.
I got really sad when this was over. Not in a way where I'm just saying that to say it, I was genuinely kind of upset. For it's 2 hour runtime I felt so comfortable in the world Tati created. Everything is so well-orchestrated and the commitment to the style is unforgiving. Just based off personal taste, I can't really say there's a better looking film out there, just watch the last 10 minutes and get back to me. I'm so in love with this, and unlike most of what I've seen from Tati thus far, I'm pumped to watch it again.
Monsieur Hulot attempts to navigate a labyrinthine, ultra-modern version of Paris, encountering a variety of quirky characters and chaotic situations.
Jacques Tati directed the film in 1967, following his previous work Monsieur Hulot's Holiday.
No, the film relies on visual storytelling, sound design, and minimal speech to convey its humor and themes.
