Giannis Argyris
Yannis Argyris (Schimatari, Boeotia, 1918 − 23 July 1993) was a Greek actor with a fifty-year career, one of the best known of his generation. He studied acting at the Drama School of the National Theatre and made his first appearance with the Carousos troupe in 1937, in William Shakespeare's Othello, at the age of just 19. Since then, he has performed hundreds of roles, both in theatre and cinema, and on television. He was the father of conductor Spyros Argyris.
