Significant Other

Significant Other, a UK-born DJ, producer, and curator now based in Berlin, has carved out a distinctive space in the electronic music landscape with his emotionally resonant productions and genre-resistant style of DJing. Consistently operating at the fringes, his creative output is an at times chaotic fusion of the tough and more tender corners of modern dance music. His work seamlessly blends elements of ambient, dub, and rougher club sonics, creating immersive fugue-state listening experiences that are at once both introspective and dancefloor-ready. The consistently elusive nature of the project has imbued his long discography with a liminal quality, his production and live output alike forever skirting the margins of genre and utility. Over the years he has garnered a cult reputation for his slant on the skudgier, atmospheric ends of contemporary mood-driven electronic music. In 2024 he launched the record label and Berlin event series Pain Management, an anti-dancefloor outlet for outsider sounds spanning spoken word, hellish dub experimentation and avant-garde electronica; ‘body music for restless minds’.
