Amr Mdah

Amr Mdah, born in Majdal Shams, Golan Heights, is a gifted musician deeply inspired by Jazz and Arabic music. But, being music-savvy, he has stellarly interwoven elements from Arabic music into Jazz music and produced a new sound that identifies him as a musician and a saxophone player. The distinctive fusion of elements of both forms of music is evident especially in his music arrangements where the combination of western and eastern music is achieved through the incorporation of instruments and melodies from both styles. What makes his fusion style unique is his ability to highlight the common roots of these two music forms rather than purely merging them or turning them into a completely new form of music. He employs a unique mix of instruments that blend seamlessly with the traditional saxophone to create a rich musical environment. Having a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz performance and a Master’s degree in Contemporary Improvisation from The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, his head is oozing melodic ideas. He has also performed with several brands locally and worldwide and is currently working on his project to write and compose his music. He has created a distinct style and form in his music; one that allows the listener to enjoy the full depth and intricacy of the musical arrangement while getting lost in the groove of his music.
