Raised in Riverside—the stretch between Los Angeles sprawl and Joshua Tree dust—SMD pulls from the low-end groove, hazy psychedelia, and brooding melody that defined late ’90s alternative and early 2000s desert rock. Their sound leans on hypnotic riffs, thick harmonies, and sharp vocal hooks—familiar in all the right ways, but built to hit now. Recorded and produced at Happy Dungeon Studios by Victor Alfaro (Christian Death) and mixed by TJ Rivera, (Rancid, The Interrupters, Epitaph, Hellcat Records) the band have carved out a space unto their own.
