Your Favorite Leech is the eclectic sonic outlet of Mikey Qubti, who is quite the journeyman in the LA rock scene. While lending his lead guitar skills to The Filthy Souls and Them Evils, and vocally fronting former bands such as Desert of Talking Shadows and Classless Act, he’s reached exciting heights and accolades such as working with Steve Albini (Nirvana, Led Zeppelin), Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden), and Jim Kaufman (Return to Dust), giving showcase performances for Slash and Johnny Christ of Avenged Sevenfold, and being offered shows performing for household name brands such as Gibson Guitars and Coca-Cola. As an opening act, he’s warmed up the stage for the likes of Dead Poet Society, Jared James Nichols, Joe Bonamassa, Radkey, and performed at massive festivals like DWP’s Welcome to Rockville. Now London based, he’s had amazing opportunities such as cowriting with UK legends Dave McCabe of The Zutons and Carl Barât of The Libertines, and playing his debut London show opening for Kyle Falconer of The View. The new sound positions itself out of guitar driven British rock influences such as BabyShambles, Arctic Monkeys, Blur, and The Police, and melds them with that of his childhood ingrained loves of groundbreaking American rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, and Queens of the Stone Age. His highly anticipated first single “Emerald Isle” was released in March of 2025 and was met with great reception from international radio.
