A Mourning Star is a 6-piece Metalcore band formed in 2021 in Vancouver, BC. Drawing from late ’90s and early ’00s metalcore and melodic death metal influences, The band quickly gained attention with their debut To See Your Beauty Fade and followed up with A Reminder of the Wound Unhealed in 2023. In 2025 they released another EP titled Necessity Has Clipped My Wings. the band has toured across Canada and the U.S., with the most notable runs being with bands such as Misery Signals, and Serration. Known for their eclectic sound and DIY roots, A Mourning Star have become a standout in the new wave of Canadian metalcore.
