Akasha System
A Florida native, Hunter P. Thompson has been creating ecologically-charged electronic music as Akasha System since 2015 in various home studios in Oregon and Florida, leading to an expansive back-catalogue of self-released singles, EP’s and full-lengths, as well as releases with 100% Silk, Elestial Sound, and his own Image Research imprint. Blending analog and synthetic instrumentation, spacious environments and meditative rhythms remain at the center of the Akasha System sound. Indebted to early purveyors of fourth-world and new-age stylings, the sounds continue to link past and present worlds, pushing the boundaries of ambient, techno, and electronica. Akasha System has been featured on Pitchfork, Bandcamp, Resident Advisor, NPR, Line of Best Fit, Tiny Mix Tapes, Loud and Quiet, Dublab, Exclaim, NTS, and Inverted Audio. -HGL
