A homegrown, underground lo-fi house artist.
ALX-106 is a recording artist based out of Denver, Co. Highly inspired by the intersection nature and technology, the ALX-106 sound culminates an organic human element to electronic dance music. His namesake is in homage to the classic Juno-106 synthesizer, a pillar in the studio. ALX uses his vast collection of vintage and modular synthesizers to craft a sound which is uniquely his. Imperfections, analog tuning, and unique recording techniques add to the lo-fi, yet polished character of his sound. With a wide variety of releases in the pipe, you can expect to hear tracks with classic deep house feel and tribal like drums ranging to downtempo electro. Artists like Felipe Gordon. Joel Holmes, Four Tet, Black Loops, come to mind when thinking about the more club-like version of ALX-106 while it is no surprise to hear tracks more reminiscent of early electronica and downtempo days. DJ Shadow, Tycho, Gold Panda, Amon Tobin and catalogues of labels like Astralwerks and Warp play a big role in the artist's daily life and all can be heard in his more downtempo focused releases. ALX-106, also known for his live performances and his work under the moniker Nasty Nachos, has shared the stages with great acts such as Chrome Sparks, Justin Jay, El Ten Eleven, Plaid, and many more. AlX looks up to greats like Mr. Fingers, Jayda G, Frankie Knuckles, and so many more with great respect. He is pushing to keep his music pure, inclusive, and most of all, a damn good time.
ALX-106 plays lo-fi house and deep techno shaped by vintage modular synthesizers and analog recording techniques.
