Year of the Horse, the new Aly & AJ single, was inspired by a unique moment in time. On February 17, the first day of the Year of the Fire Horse and the first occurrence of the zodiac sign in 60 years, the sisters found themselves in the studio watching friends reflect on what the year might bring. Moved by conversations around strength, grace, endurance, and renewal, they set out to capture that feeling in a song. "Year of the Horse" is ultimately about resilience and momentum –turning the page on a season of quiet change and finding the courage to move forward into the unknown. The song was recorded in Topanga Canyon with producer Jonathan Wilson. What began as an idea inspired by the calendar quickly became something more personal, reflecting a season of transition and movement in the sisters' lives. For Aly & AJ, the song represents not only a new page in the zodiac, but a new page for the band as well. Following the release of Silver Deliverer, more than twenty years into their career, the sisters continue to evolve while remaining committed to the instincts and creative freedom that have guided them from the beginning. Aly & AJ will return to the road this November as they resume their Places To Run Tour.
