APQ is An Pierlé Quartet Long time collaborators An Pierlé & Koen Gisen team up with the young jazzprodigies Hendrik Lasure & Casper van de Velde from SCHNTZL. A mix of experimental popsongs and improvisation. Sensuous & wild between still- & groovyness. An Pierlé Quartet (APQ) returns with Ultimate Survival, a bold and fearless album on the prestigious W.E.R.F. label. Four years after Wiga Waga, the grooves run deeper, and the lyrics hit harder, shaped by Pierlé’s personal journey. Yet, this album isn’t about darkness—it’s about resilience. With jazz influences and a stellar band featuring Hendrik Lasure (synths), Casper Van De Velde (drums), and Koen Gisen (clarinet, sax & production), Ultimate Survival is an immersive experience, echoing the spirit of David Bowie’s Blackstar. From the reflective The Sting to the liberating Daybreak, Pierlé’s haunting vocals and fearless storytelling make this a raw, ever-evolving sonic journey.
