Angel Fur is the solo project of veteran Austin artist Liz Baker (Young Tongue, The Baker Family). Defining their sound as "tranquil punk," Liz’s work balances raw lyrical vulnerability with a refined atmospheric edge. Their debut full-length, Cicada Baby, just arrived on March 1st - a folk-leaning, banjo-led soliloquy on queer love, grief, and self-reclamation recorded by Dan Duszynski (Loma, Cross Record) and mastered by Carl Saff. While Cicada Baby introduces the project through a lens of stillness, it is only the first movement. Liz is already preparing a second album for release later this year, which pivots toward the project’s heavier roots. Featuring bass-driven, percussive compositions and a punk-forward energy, the upcoming record expands the Angel Fur universe into a louder, more visceral territory.
