Anmol Mohara

London-based, Nepali artist on a mission to bring the traditional Nepali music into contemporary, global context. Drawing inspiration from visionary artists like Trilok Gurtu, Karim Ziad, Nitin Sawhney, Oumou Sangare, his music blends the rich traditions of Nepali culture with the improvisational spirit of jazz and his diverse global influences, pioneering a unique sound world. Anmol’s musical journey began at Nepal Music Center (2009 to 2015), where he trained in drums, tabla, and traditional Nepali percussion instruments. Since moving to the UK, Anmol has made his mark, winning both the 'UK Young Drummer Of The Year' and 'Yamaha Future Beat' competitions. He is a 2023 graduate of the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama, specializing in jazz drums. Anmol has performed with a wide range of artists including Nicolas Meier, Gareth Lockrane, Antoine Fafard, Phil Meadows, and the Nepali Folk Symphony Orchestra. His live credits include prestigious stages such as Ronnie Scott’s, Eventim Apollo, Barbican Hall, Vortex Jazz Club.
