Soprano Annija Putnina hails from Riga, Latvia, where she trained at the Latvian Academy of Music as a classical singer. After successful debut in "Les Miserables" as Eponina and "West side story" as Maria (both productions in Latvia) she decided to go to London where she graduated Royal Academy of Music, Musical Theatre course. A singer in BBC Radio2 concert "Friday night is Music Night" with BBC Radio orchestra. Annija has also taken part in Eurovision in 2009, where she came 2nd in the Latvian National final. In 2015 Annija was nominated as a Young Artist of the Year in Grand Music Award - the highest form of Latvia in the field of music. She also performed in TV talent show “Stars in their eyes”. Since 2021, Annija is best known for her role as “Lele” in a musical TV series for kids “UKULELE” on Latvian National TV channel. In 2023 Annija released her first single in English “You are not alone” together with award-winning composer Rihards Zaļupe.
