Aux Meadows is an instrumental Americana trio from Oakland, California. With lap steel, synthesizer, and guitar, the group creates a distinctive blend of rustic country traditions and ethereal new age sonics. Formed out of a post-vaccination jam session, the band's eponymous debut Aux Meadows was self-released in 2022 to unexpected praise, with the Dust Kingdom EP following on Perpetual Doom in 2023. Their 2025 full-length Draw Near was described as “grade-A cosmic twang” (Bandcamp) at "the crosshairs of Krautrock and country, pastoral and progressive” (Raven Sings the Blues). The album appeared on numerous best-of lists, including Aquarium Drunkard and Bandcamp’s ‘Best Country Music of March.’ Aux Meadows have performed live with Luke Schneider, Julie Beth Napolin, Jeffrey Silverstein, Michael J. Tapscott, Donald Beaman, Joseph Allred, Katsy Pline, and Seawind of Battery, among others. "If Neu! scored a Sam Peckinpah film." – Record Crates United "(it's) roots music for Zen practitioners." – Petal Motel "The sound of musicians listening to one another, dreaming in real time." – Aquarium Drunkard "Aux Meadows rustle up some fine open sky sounds that owe as much to Brian Eno as to Dylan’s 'Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid' soundtrack." – Jeff Conklin
