Bad Static

Bad Static is an all-women punk band based in New York City, formed in 2021. With a gritty, electrifying sound rooted in the Riot Grrrl movement of the 1990s, the band delivers hard-hitting, socially conscious music that confronts double standards, challenges injustice, and amplifies feminist themes. Known for their raw energy and refusal to hold back, Bad Static has been hailed by Huck Magazine as “vanguards of the genre’s [Riot Grrrl] new wave.” In 2026, Alternative Press readers voted Bad Static one of the Top 5 Bands from New York City, further cementing the band's reputation as one of the most exciting voices in the city's punk scene. Since kicking off their touring journey in 2025, Bad Static has hit stages across the U.S., Canada, England, and France — including a performance at the 10th annual LOUD WOMEN FEST in London. They've shared bills with key figures in the Riot Grrrl and punk community, including opening for Allison Wolfe of Bratmobile and Sorry Mom, and have cultivated a dedicated, values-aligned audience. They continue to carve out a space in the scene, not just with their music, but through community-building. Whether in their hometown or on the road, the band hosts inclusive Riot Grrrl events that create safe, affirming environments for fans of all backgrounds, as well being one of the founding members of the NYC Riot Grrrl Chapter.
