Baha Yetkin is a London based composer and oud artist creating contemporary music inspired by Turkish makam, jazz improvisation and the modal traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean. Born in Istanbul and based in London since 2015, he brings more than twenty six years of professional experience across performance, composition, theatre, recording and education. His music moves between the intimacy of solo oud, the open dialogue of improvisation and the rhythmic energy of contemporary ensemble playing. His releases include The Pearl, The Turkish Oud, The Makam – Oud and a series of original singles and collaborations. Through each project, Baha explores how a deeply rooted modal tradition can continue to evolve and communicate with audiences today.
