Beat Bitela

Beat Bitela is a fusion of electronic music, beatboxing, and Lithuanian folklore. The project features the sutartinė, a genre of archaic polyphonic singing, unique to the northeast of Lithuania. Simple melodies sung in counterpoint, syncopated rhythms, repeated refrains make up the unmistakable sound of sutartinės, which used to be performed as ceremonial pieces during work, weddings, seasonal holidays, and on other occasions. Recognised as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO, this genre keeps inspiring artists and finds yet another way of charming the audiences as contemporary dance music by Beat Bitela.
