Berthold City
A high-energy, homegrown hardcore artist.
"I started the band because I was frustrated about the current state of hardcore and I felt like I could make a positive impact and lead by example,” says vocalist Andrew Kline about his new band, BERTHOLD CITY. The guy knows a thing or two about hardcore. Since the early ‘90s, he’s been throwing down guitar riffs in Strife, and more recently, World Be Free. “A lot of people like to complain about hardcore, but not only do they rarely go to shows or support hardcore bands, but they don't do anything to make hardcore a better place.” Formed in 2017 by Kline, BERTHOLD CITY’s lineup is rounded out by guitarist Dennis McDonald (Internal Affairs), drummer Adam Galindo (Abrasian / One Choice), bassist John Eightclip (Allegiance), and guitarist Dave Itow (The Mistake). The straight edge band released a 3-song demo in July of 2017 and quickly followed it up with the release of the Moment of Truth 7” and the What Time Takes 7”. Since their formation, Berthold City have hit the ground running and completed short tours on both Coasts with Terror, Regulate, Fireburn, and Kill Your Idols. Locally they have shared the stage with bands such as Sick of it All, Judge, Shelter, Agnostic Front, Youth of Today, Drain, Dare, Change. among others.
