Big Hare consists of Luuk Ottenhof (drums, vocals, production) and Tim Fraanje (synths, vocals, lyrics). The duo formed in 2012, when the slogan on a shampoo bottle made Luuk enter a visionary dream state. Since then, they have been searching for enchantment and pleasure in a world ruled by utility and greed. Their third album Sun House was released in February 2025 and is (as far as we know) the first SOLARCORE hymn collection. SOLARCORE is the name of an aesthetic, a collective and a state of mind. SOLARCORE helps to exit the boring fossil age and enter the magnificent Sun Age. In this age, the Sun and the wind gift us limitless energy. This creates space to shift our focus from the practical to the delightful aspects of existence. We will spend our days enjoying a new hedonism and communicating with dolphins, robots and other beings. The song The Secret of the Dolphin is created in collaboration with Omninaut (Arvid Jense and Marie Caye) and album art is by Cyanne van den Houten. Big Hare has played over 200 shows since its inception, at venues including Worm, Roodkapje, 1646, Arti et Amicitiae, Sexyland World, Ekko, Extrapool, Het Patronaat, and Paradiso, among others.
