Black Panda, the alter ego of Edwin "Eddie" Rios, is an Oakland-based DJ and producer who has been described as one of San Francisco's rising stars. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he channels his Puerto Rican roots into the timeless groove of House and disco. With every unique set, he brings a captivating energy, dancing behind the booth just as he would with the people, and shapes the moment based on the true feeling behind the music. His canvass of genres is vast: afro, deep, melodic, progressive, classic Chicago and New York house, tech house, Detroit techno, disco—you name it, and Black Panda blends it. For Black Panda, every set is a moment of connection—with one another and to the past, present, and future. Though rooted in the Bay Area, Black Panda has traveled throughout the United States to share that House love. He has played on lineups alongside Kevin Knapp, Dusky, Gorgon City, Azzecca, Nora En Pure, Romain Garcia, The Scumfrog, Pleasurekraft, and others. runs a semi-regular mix series called Hibernation on SoundCloud. He's the mastermind behind Pandamonium, a resident DJ with the Burning Man crew, Heavy Petting Zoo, and co-founder of the BIPOC Beats Collective, an initiative aimed at uplifting and connecting sound artists of color across the globe at Burning Man and beyond. He has released on Justin Jay's label, Fantastic Voyage, and Bread Box Records in collaboration with Almost All Purpose.
