An underground rock act.
With the second album in the can Londons Black Powder Merchants are taking matters into their own hands. Having resurrected their Whistle and Boom label they are forging ahead with latest single Shape Shaker ahead of an interim EP whilst the mercurial 2nd LP is somewhere in the ether. With Ean "Roon" Rooney at the production helm they headed for the wilds of Cumbria and their bespoke, newly established Fellman Studios. Aiming to capture that coveted "big room" rock'n' roll sound for their sophomore effort, a barn seemed like the natural and logical choice. Armed with a host of new tracks with a flavour palette covering early QOTSA to Talking Heads, Pixies and Blondie, their vocal interplay, attacking guitars and monstrous rhythm section will have your inhibitions stomped into submission in a heartbeat. Their raucous energy is more primal than ever and they a are bring it all to bear live. Louder Than War boldly enthused "... this band has got more attitude and rock 'n' roll in their little finger than most bands have in their entire discography." Louder Than War are 'bob on; Black Powder Merchants are taking things to the next level. Do not sleep on them.
Black Powder Merchants play raucous punk rock and roll, combining attacking guitars and driving rhythms reminiscent of early Queens of the Stone Age and Blondie.
