Formed in 1998, they are regarded as the OGs of the modern New Orleans trombone fronted brass rock movement. Currently comprised of Mark Mullins (co-founder, trombone, electric trombone, arranger and vocals), Greg Hicks (trombone and vocals), Chris Butcher (trombone), Michael Mullins (bass trombone and vocals) Bert Cotton (guitar), Matt Perrine (sousaphone) and Eric Bolivar (drums), Bonerama is one of the most unique bands to ever come out of New Orleans. Their brand new release So Much Love (2026) features a who's who of New Orleans music today with special guests Trombone Shorty, Ivan Neville, Cyril Neville, Stanton Moore, Johnny Sansone, River Eckert and many more contribution to this brand new widely acclaimed album. Bonerama's previous album Bonerama Plays Zeppelin (Basin Street Records), was one of the best-selling albums at Jazz Fest in 2019. Also in 2019 the band released a special single “Empty World” as a tribute to the late Allen Toussaint and features Michael McDonald on lead vocal.
