BoyGirl is a genderfluid/nonbinary music maker originally from Boulder Creek, California but has since lived in Arizona, Indiana, Illinois, and currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri. They wrote their first song at sixteen and have been making music as a hobby ever since. Much like other artists, BoyGirl draws inspiration from experience. Subjects in songs can range from overcoming depression and fear, loving someone with an addiction, generational trauma, the pain of someone you love going to prison, nostalgia, getting your GameBoy stolen, and just loving being a virgo. BoyGirl draws influence from the vast music genres they love and cherish which ranges anywhere from electropop and indie to punk and hardcore to emo and shoegaze. BoyGirl's sound is best described as dreamo/bedroom pop. Everything is recorded in their bedroom with just a microphone and their phone.
