Brandon Hudgeons is an Austin, Texas singer-songwriter rooted in the tradition of Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Rodney Crowell. Born and raised in Midland, Texas, Hudgeons has spent years around the Austin songwriting world. Now, he's making a serious run at the craft with a clear goal: write songs good enough to justify the album he’s been chasing his whole life. He's releasing that album now, starting with Rock Bottom Church. Hudgeons writes at least one song every week — a consecutive streak now over two years long — as part of the Song Club that he founded. He works all of the local Austin songwriter stages, including Cactus Cafe, Hole in the Wall, Carousel Lounge. Eight notebooks full of lyrics. A 1989 Provan Tiger Astro van that doubles as his tour bus, festival home, and mobile songwriting vessel. “Brandon Hudgeons is carrying on the grand tradition of musical storytelling! His lyrics carry echoes of Guy Clark and Rodney Crowell!” -- Grey DeLisle “Brandon Hudgeons’ Rock Bottom Church is a solid piece of Texas Country songwriting at its best. Fresh and slightly unpredictable, it’s glued together tight and demands another listen.” -- Noel McKay
