An underground, nostalgic chamber pop act.
New Orleans based singer-songwriter, Spencer Nessel, filters lush chamber pop arrangements through bold vocal melodies and an expansive record collection. There’s reverence for oldies radio without letting it steer the wheel. The result is cordial and confident pop songs that let each instrument acts as an ear-worm finding their space in the nooks and crannies.. Burnt Sugar is a continuation of modern pop artists grounded in classic American pop from Cole Porter to Carly Simon to Cut Worms
