Coby Rotan and The Naturals

Coby Rotan & The Naturals is less a band than a brotherhood. Fronted by Permian Basin native Coby Rotan — now based in Canyon Lake — the group delivers a sound that’s raw, soulful, and unmistakably their own. Rotan first surfaced in 2023 with singles like “The Yeti Song” and “Place Outside of Austin,” blending West Texas grit with Southern warmth. His songwriting recalls troubadours like Robert Earl Keen, with one mission: to write songs people can feel. In 2025, Rotan joined forces with bassist Lucas “Honky Tonk Red” Copeland, drummer Lincoln “Love” Lankford, and manager Jon Paul Long to form The Naturals — later rounded out by Ryan Igler (guitar), Rolando “Rolo” Ramon (fiddle), Brad Sosebee (keys), and Kevin Garinger (harmonica). The crew spent a year in rehearsal and studio before ever hitting a stage. Their debut album, Strictly Business — produced by AJ Vallejo and Drew Heaton and mastered by Adam Odor — arrives winter 2026, led by the single “Fightin’ Chance.” Their baptism by fire came at Gruene Hall, Texas’ oldest dancehall, opening for Creed Fisher before a sold-out crowd — their very first show. Most acts claw for years to play Gruene; The Naturals started there. Now partnered with Smith Distribution, they’re carrying their truth-telling songs beyond Texas dancehalls and honky-tonks. With songs that cut deep, a lineup that feels like family, and a fire built to last, Coby Rotan & The Naturals are staking their claim as one of the next great Texas country bands.
