A homegrown greek shoegaze artist.
commuter started as a musical project of Dionysis Koutavas (vocals/guitar) in Athens (Greece) in 2019. The project became a full band in October 2021 with the addition of Dimitris Koutsoulis (drums), Spilios Kakkas (bass/vocals) and Kostas Bariamis (guitar). Influenced by the post-punk sounds of the Canadian scene as well as the new wave of UK among others, the band has played live shows alongside popular international acts (Dry Cleaning, Protomartyr, A Place to Bury Strangers, DITZ). commuter released their first self-titled EP in January 2023 on all streaming platforms and cassette via Bitter Tea Records. Their debut full-length album is expected to be released in the fall of 2024, available on digital and vinyl format.
