Corey Arceneaux Zydeco Legend Corey Arceneaux is a fourth-generation accordionist and band leader with a Louisiana musical heritage spanning over 90 plus years. This rich tradition began with his great-grandfather Ferdinand Arceneaux, a Creole/Lala accordionist. Corey is part of one of Zydeco’s first families, led by his late great-uncle Fernest Arceneaux, famously known as the “New Prince of Accordion” for his exceptional talent. Corey’s music is a distinctive fusion of R&B, Blues, and Country, enriched with traditional Zydeco elements. His compositions draw inspiration from his culture and his greatest influences, including Clifton Chenier, the legendary King of Zydeco, and Buckwheat Zydeco, his neighbor and mentor until his passing in 2016. The Zydeco Hot Peppers, an accomplished group of musicians, further enhance Corey’s performances with their unique passion and style. For over 35 years, Corey Arceneaux and the Zydeco Hot Peppers have captivated audiences both domestically and internationally with their dynamic performances. Corey has been a dedicated Louisiana Creole Zydeco Ambassador. Additionally, he hosts “Hot Sauce Saturday,” a program showcasing Zydeco and Southern soul music. The show is simulcast on two Louisiana radio stations, KFXZ 105.9 and KSLO 105.3, as well as online every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. In 2023, Corey received the Prestige Award for Louisiana Association of Broadcasters "Uniquely Louisiana” Large Market Radio. coreyarceneaux.com
