Fado, choro, morna, traditional Portuguese music. Cristina Clara can not be squeezed into a single musical genre. She brings them all together into the songs that build her music. She creates bridges between different musical universes. That is her way to promoting exchange and honor sonorities and traditions from different places and realities. Her albums present revisited and original songs that reflect her contemporary vision on tradition, interpreted by musicians coming from jazz, traditional Portuguese music and Brazilian and Cape Verdean popular music. The result is a colorful melody that all people can share, sing and dance.

Cristina Clara originally hails from Vila Nova de Famalicão in northern Portugal and has been based in Lisbon since 2005.
