Chris Speed Visuals (CSV) is a London-based audiovisual artist, DJ and educator exploring real-time technologies to breaking point. His dark underground sound comes from teens spent immersed in dingy East London club nights and online during the Witch House / Cloud Rap golden eras. CSV’s music crosses genre boundaries by incorporating elements from Grime to Hyperpop as well as Glitch Music. For this he utilises hardware synthesisers and custom algorithmic tools to produce boundary-pushing results. CSV has since released music on labels such as SYNES, Club Late Music and Insert. His last self-released EP Synthesia featured in Beatport’s Best New 140 Dubstep playlist and received airplay on NTS, Rinse FM and BBC Radio 6. For live AV shows he has developed an innovative motion-capture system and experimented across media such as music videos, VR and immersive installations. These artworks have been exhibited internationally at new media art venues and music festivals such as Watermans, Arebyte Gallery, British Art Show 8, ArtFutura, The Wrong Biennale, CURRENTS, Amsterdam Dance Event and Digerati Experimental Media Festival.
