CuVa Bimö

Formed in 2023, CuVa Bimö is Pete (Guitars/Vox), Ricky (Drums), Jake (Bass) and Sebastian (Guitar/Vox). They landed on the name “CuVa Bimö”, which is an amalgamation of letters from their last names. Based out of Oakland, the band is a mix of alternative rock, post-punk, grunge and shoegaze, they like “post-whatever rock” the most. Sonic Youth, Ride, Fugazi, Arctic Monkeys, Generacion Suicida, Cola, Oingo Boingo and Dinosaur Jr are big influences. After releasing their debut record “CB Radio” independently in January 2025 and playing lots of local live shows, the band began a prolific writing period and entered the studio in October 2025 to begin work on their second album, “New Western Values”. They worked with Trevor Gabriel of Cactus House Recording/Dark Satellite to record, produce and mix “New Western Values”, looking for a sonic “step-up” from their first album. On their first album, the band wrote about being annoyed with many day-to-day things: their jobs, the highs and lows of the Bay area, and a feeling that civilization is collapsing. Now, with their second album coming out only a year and a half-ish later, that feeling of annoyance has grown into being fed up. This time, the band is working with Bay Area music label Sell The Heart Records and is excited to join a roster of artists that really stand out among the masses.
