1965. Super 8 was born, capturing the raw, imperfect beauty of a time when anything felt possible. For the first time, people could film the world through their own lens, in their own way. It’s that flickering, honest grain that Damantra chose to channel in their debut (upcoming) album — handcrafted from start to finish, instruments and amps included. On Better Off This Way, ten tracks roll out like a psychedelic blues rock road trip, burning down the same highway as Blues Pills and Rival Sons. It grooves. It screams. It whispers. Behind the fuzz and fire, you’ll hear doubt and fury — the sound of inner reckoning, of breaking old patterns and chasing something real. A room haunted by old voices. An emptying living room. A car flying too fast down a road that’s far too narrow. The scenes flash by, driven by Damantra’s obsession: to tear it all down and carve their own way forward. And that road? Full throttle. No rearview mirror.
