Dario Pagano
An underground canzone napoletana artist.
Dario Pagano was born in Monza in 1995, but he is deeply connected to the city of Naples through his origins, culture, and musical tradition. A composer of classical, sacred, and operatic music, he published his first classical instrumental and piano pieces in 2020. Pagano's unmistakable musical style is characterized by highly effective melodic writing and an intense expressive power, achieved through pronounced lyricism and poignant, at times impetuous, dynamics. In 2022, he completed the composition of his opera "Enea e Didone, il destino di un amore" (Aeneas and Dido, the destiny of a love), a poignant love story through which Pagano explores the complex dynamics of human emotions and their relationship with the divine. He is currently releasing the opera's various musical pieces on digital stores, in collaboration with renowned opera singers. On the opera's website, you can explore the story, scenes, and libretto: https://www.eneaedidone.art/ He has dedicated several works to Naples, including the pieces "Filumena" for tenor and orchestra and "Vucchella amara”, a set of two piano nocturnes and the album "Concerto Napoletano”, featuring four instrumental pieces for orchestra and mandolin, most notably the cheerful "Tarantella smargiassa."
