Emmy-nominated composer David Buckley's credits include Jason Bourne (Paul Greengrass), The Town (Ben Affleck), The Nice Guys (Shane Black/Joel Silver), Papillon (starring Charlie Hunnam and Rami Malek), Joel Schumacher’s Blood Creek, Taylor Hackford’s Parker, and Rob Minkoff’s The Forbidden Kingdom. On television, David is the composer of The Sandman (Netflix/WB) and The Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix/A&E). He also scored the long-running CBS drama The Good Wife and its spinoff The Good Fight — earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Title Music — as well as Your Honor (Showtime) and Evil (CBS). Born in England, David’s first experience with film music was as a cathedral choirboy on Peter Gabriel’s score for Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ. After studying music at Cambridge University, he moved to Los Angeles in 2006 to work with Harry Gregson-Williams on projects such as Shrek the Third and Gone Baby Gone. Since then, his music has featured in Wonder Woman, Big Eyes, American Hustle, Joy, and all three Fifty Shades films. In recognition of his achievements, BAFTA named him a “Brit to Watch.” Beyond film and television, David has written for video games including Batman: Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. In 2025, his chamber opera Oracle was recorded by the BBC Concert Orchestra and premiered in Switzerland.
