An underground indie folk artist.
Dela Marmy is a Portuguese artist, from Trás-os-Montes and Beira Baixa, based in Lisbon. Her writing and composition reveal intimate and poetic songs, which meet the wild singularity of her voice. After having released two EP's, which feature Sonic Boom and Charlie Francis, Dela Marmy released her first album Acaso produced by João Correia (Tape Junk), with influences from indie-folk, art pop and electronic. Acaso (Sopa de Pedra), E se o céu se apagar, Desejo and Espanta-me are the singles taken from it. Recently, Dela Marmy released a trilogy that includes Sem Prescrição with the featuring of Brazilian singer Paula Morelenbaum. The artist was part of the band The Happy Mess, on synthesizers and vocals and later launched a solo career, debuting under the name Dela Marmy in 2019, developing from there a music where the most dream pop cohabit with more alternative rock or folk places. At the same time, on stage, the songs gain even more colour, volume and a performative body, as she’s been connected to dance for many years. Dela Marmy dances just as she sings, in a mix of delicacy, charm, strangeness and truth, highlighting the perception of norms and performance boundaries.
