Devin Gutierrez

Devin Gutierrez is a 23-year-old powerhouse singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, vocal coach, and disability rights activist based in Austin, Texas. He is on the Autism Spectrum and was born with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia which caused his blindness. Music has always been his passion and lifeline, and he cites Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Donny Hathaway, and Ray Charles among some of his influences. It was at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired that he explored his gift of songwriting, arranging, and sound design. He also found his calling as a vocal coach and producer with a project called The Spinrockers. In 2019, Devin teamed up with The Music Moves Mountains Foundation and began to raise funds to support his music development via the All Abilities Rock program. Peripheral Vision is a collection of live performances from three different livestreams recorded in 2020 and 2021 at the East Austin Piano Shop by Collin Shook. The album is a mix of acoustic and electric covers as well as two originals by Devin and a bonus demo of a new song. 10 songs that showcase Devin's immense talents and range. The album was mixed and mastered by Devin as well. When he’s not making his own music, Devin can be found sitting in with Austin soul giants, Blue Mist, a band consisting of alumni from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
