DJ Vetkuk

Vetkuk alongside Mahoota have entrenched their names in the local dance scene. The collaboration between Jotham Mbuyisa and Zynne Sibika has proved to be one of music's most enduring partnership that has garnered them critical acclaim and commercial success dating back to 2001. The last time they released was in 2012 but they have managed to still have gigs every weekend of the year. Mahoota says the secret lies in cultivating good relations. ‘Wherever we go we please the audiences and we build relationships with promoters. We don’t treat ourselves as superstars or divas, we acknowledge that you are as good as your last hit.’ Vetkuk maintains that they are a dance duo and are not limited to what type of dance they record. They are fully aware of how big the brand has become beyond the 52 week hectic gig guide they dominate. ‘We have been releasing since 2001 until today and we have never flopped. Our albums have all sold platinum. When we talk about dance, it’s also about lifestyle and swag, that’s why we say Local Everywhere. Our name took us to France, England, the US and across the continent. We’ve performed at prestigious events of up to 50 000 people.’
